Choosing A Lens Set For Nature Photography

Within the beginning of this article they describe there being three different ways to put together a nature photography lens kit. This is helpful when deciding what type of of equipment to purchase for the photography you would like to capture. This article has it broken down into four segments: landscape, wildlife, travel, and sport-action. Depending on what type of focus you are wanting is how you would select your optimal lens kit. Some of these segments would not need the extra lens you could select a camera with superzoom. Other segments will need the removable lens to capture the optimal image.

From a wildlife and landscape concentration what would you say is the best lens kit set up from your experience?

Best Cameras for Wildlife Photography

This article from the Outdoor Photographer Magazine explains the best cameras to use while capturing wildlife. It is hard to capture an animal that could move at any moment. You can not make them pose a certain way so the photographer has to be active and have the right equipment. An interesting thing they talk about in this article is having a camera that is able to do micro bursts to capture the animals right moment.

The article later describes different brands of cameras and the details important for this type of photography the camera offers. If someone is interested in this kind of photography this article is very helpful describing how to capture the perfect moment with the right equipment.

Outdoor Photographer Magazine

Lake Of The Clouds
Best times and locations to photograph in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Michigan
Text and Photography By Jeff Stasney

Porcupine Mountains, Michigan

When looking through the online articles of Outdoor Photographer Magazine this image by Jeff Stasney caught my eye. The colors of the sun setting on the fall trees drew me into his article of how he captured this image. Upon reading the article I found it interesting that he went back to the same location three times. He did this because the first two times he was not pleased with the result he captured. He also explained how he studied the area to find out when the peak time for the fall colors to be just right. Jeff gave a lot of time an energy for this photo and in the end it was definitely worth it.
