One of the biggest things is being dressed the part to stay warm while taking photos. Clothing a other protective measures must be taken by the photographers in order to ensure their own safety and to capture the best quality pictures. Then the next step they recommend is to protect your equipment. Cameras and other gear just need to be winterized before heading out to take pictures. This is to help the batteries to stay warm if done properly and improve the life of your equipment. The next step they talk about is easing into it because everyone is bound to make mistakes.
